Fifty years of Public Life research leading gradually to implementation of people-oriented planning strategies in cities across the world: Copenhagen, Melbourne, London, New York and Moscow, among others. The Livable cities of the 21st Century are characterized by a strong focus on sustainable modes of transport supported by a good public realm. Care for people and the public realm are seen as an important key for creating lively, safe, sustainable and healthy cities.
