Participation for Youth in the Young Planners Network Conference in New York City

This project will support 10 young planners from the Bay Area to convene with over 100 youth from across the country in a conference dedicated to celebrating and preparing youth engagement in city planning and policy making.

Based at the Center for Cities and Schools at the Institute of Urban and Regional Development at the University of California, Berkeley, the Young Planners Network (YPN) consists of Young Planners and Adult Allies all over the U.S. who are working to "create a place at the table" for youth in planning processes, by both incorporating planning content into K-12 education and by advocating for change in planning practice.

This project will support 10 young planners from the Bay Area to convene with over 100 youth from across the country in a conference dedicated to celebrating and preparing youth engagement in city planning and policy making.

Social Enterprise for Learning (SEfL): Teachers Guide Development Project

The School-to-Career Department has begun a collaboration to form a design team with the National Academy Foundation, Center for Cities & Schools, Pearson Foundation and the Bay Area Writing Project. The goal of the Literacy Curriculum Technology Initiative is to develop an instructional model to provide C.T.E. students excellent writing, oral and digital communication skills. Each school site’s team will be supported by staff provided by the design team partners.

The Center for Cities and Schools Institute of Urban and Regional Development will provide Assistance on instructional design with the School-to-Career Department in developing a project-based learning process.
