Max Nathan is based at the London School of Economics (LSE), where he is doing Ph.D. research on the economics of cultural diversity in UK cities. He is currently looking at the links between diversity, ideas generation and growth in urban areas, particularly in high-tech clusters such as Silicon Valley. Max is also a Policy Advisor at the UK Government’s Department of Communities and Local Government (CLG), working on a range of issues including urban policy, innovation, migration and economic development. He is an Associate Fellow at the Institute for Public Policy Research think tank and an Associate at the Centre for Cities, an independent urban research unit that he helped establish in 2005.
