Below are directions for reaching the Berkeley campus by car. See the campus map to view IURD's location on campus. Due to limited parking availability, we recommend that you use public transportation whenever possible.

From San Francisco, the San Francisco airport, and points south on northbound Highway 101:

1. Follow U.S. 101 north and then switch to I-80 east, and take it across the San Francisco/Oakland Bay Bridge.
2. Stay left as you get off the Bay Bridge and take I-80 east heading to Berkeley & Sacramento.
3. Exit I-80 onto University Avenue.
4. Continue east on University Avenue for approximately 1.5 miles to Oxford Street at the western edge of the campus.
5. Make a right turn on Oxford (becomes Fulton Street) and continue 6 blocks to Durant Avenue.
6. Make a left turn on Durant and continue east for two-and-a-half blocks to the Sather Gate Public Parking Garage (2450 Durant Avenue) on the right side of the street. Make a right turn into the garage and park.
7. From the garage, walk east on Durant Avenue for 2 blocks to College Avenue.
8. Turn left on College and walk one block north to Bancroft Way (a 'T' intersection).
9. Across the street, beyond the fountain plaza, is Wurster Hall with its ten-story tower. Once inside the building, take the north elevators to the third floor and turn right to find us in Room 316.

From Oakland, the Oakland airport, Hayward or San Jose on northbound I-880:

1. Stay in left center lanes on I-880 when you reach downtown Oakland.
2. Exit I-80 east (to Berkeley).
3. Exit I-80 at University Avenue.
4. Continue east on University Avenue for approximately 1.5 miles to Oxford Street at the western edge of campus.
5. Make a right turn on Oxford (becomes Fulton Street) and continue 6 blocks to Durant Avenue.
6. Make a left turn on Durant and continue east for two-and-a-half blocks to the Sather Gate Public Parking Garage (2450 Durant Avenue) on the right side of the street. Make a right turn into the garage and park.
7. From the garage, walk east on Durant Avenue for 2 blocks to College Avenue.
8. Turn left on College and walk one block north to Bancroft Way (a 'T' intersection).
9. Across the street, beyond the fountain plaza, is Wurster Hall with its ten-story tower. Once inside the building, take the north elevators to the third floor and turn right to find us in Room 316.

From the East Bay on westbound Highway 24:

1. From Highway 24, exit at Telegraph Avenue and take a right on Telegraph.
2. Continue north on Telegraph until it ends at the southside of campus on Bancroft Way.
3. Make a left turn on Bancroft and continue one block to Dana Street.
4. Make a left turn on Dana Street and continue one block to Durant Avenue.
5. Make a left turn on Durant and continue half a block to the Sather Gate Public Parking Garage (2450 Durant Avenue) on the right side of the street. Make a right turn into the garage and park.
6. From the garage, walk east on Durant Avenue for 2 blocks to College Avenue.
7. Turn left on College and walk one block north to Bancroft Way (a 'T' intersection).

From eastbound Highway 24:

1. From Highway 24, exit at Claremont Ave. and take a right on Claremont.

3. Continue north on Telegraph until it ends at the southside of campus on Bancroft Way.
4. Make a left turn on Bancroft and continue one block to Dana Street.
5. Make a left turn on Dana Street and continue one block to Durant Avenue.
6. Make a left turn on Durant and continue half a block to the Sather Gate Public Parking Garage (2450 Durant Avenue) on the right side of the street. Make a right turn into the garage and park.

From the East Bay on northbound Highway 13:

1. Highway 13 ends and becomes Tunnel Road.
2. Continue on Tunnel Road. Tunnel Road becomes Ashby Avenue near the Claremont Hotel. Continue on Ashby.
3. Turn right at Telegraph Avenue.
4. Continue north on Telegraph until it ends at the southside of campus on Bancroft Way.
5. Make a left turn on Bancroft and continue one block to Dana Street.
6. Make a left turn on Dana Street and continue one block to Durant Avenue.
7. Make a left turn on Durant and continue half a block to the Sather Gate Public Parking Garage (2450 Durant Avenue) on the right side of the street. Make a right turn into the garage and park.
